It was clearly the Gary Oliva guy, who frequently entered the house to sleep when it was cold. He went in on Christmas and was hanging around the house. When the family went out to dinner, he explored the house, drafted the letter because he actually planned to kidnap her. Late that night, he went to get her, left the letter and carried her downstairs. But he wasn't strong enough to get her out the window. Maybe he dropped her or she woke up so he killed her and left. The key is in the wording of the letter. It is very similar to the type of language he uses in his letters and poems.
If not for the Elizabeth Smart case, I would have scoffed at the absurdity of the idea that a random vagrant did this to JonBenet. But it just goes to show that there is true evil in the world and it definitely could have been this guy. (But why don’t we hear about him? Did they clear him completely?)
The police did clear him and he was in poor health. The difference between this and the Elizabeth Smart case was that Elizabeth smart was actually abducted and her sister in the room was a witness. There wasnt a murder, staged intrusion, and a body found in the home all done with supplies from the house containing fibers from her mothers jacket.
True—and yet even with the eyewitness sister and no body or evidence of family involvement in the E Smart disappearance, rumors persisted that the dad or uncle must have killed her or they were somehow involved for months and months (especially when the guy tried to break into the uncle’s house a couple of months in so that he could get the cousin) all the way up until the day she was found. Intruders are uncommon. But they do happen. And pedophiles are a special kind of evil who are attracted to the types of events Patsy had JB enrollled in. So it seems far-fetched but also the cast of potential characters are way outside the norm for most of us.
