Those of you saying "I don't need to be a doctor to diagnose Parkinson's" couldn't even diagnose the fact that he had a common cold during the debate. But suppose he does in fact submit to a neurological exam and it turns up with no Parkinson's and no dementia. Are you willing to accept that you were wrong? Fact is, things his stiff gait and stutter are in fact fully explained yet you still act like it's some kind of great mystery.
Not the person you are responding to, but I did get some training in cognitive assessment. Your point may have made sense a year or 2 or 3 ago because I do find the assessments are not great for the very early stages. This is no longer early stage. Have you seen where the decline goes? I have. Will it take having a president in diapers who can't feed himself, talk or walk to finally decide he is too disabled for the job. There are already reports about the escalating anger issues. Ohhhhh I can tell you all the places that can go and my mother was not meeting other world leaders where etiquette and protocol are essential. You are doing a disservice to your country and to an ailing elderly man by trying to defend or gaslight or excuse or do a "yes, but Trump..." Instead, contact your congresspeople and if they are pushing for him to resign commend then and request they use the 25th Amendment. If they are not pushing for it, make it clear it's time. Also, suggest they figure out who the viable candidates are have a sit-down with Harris about doing what is best for the party, not her ego.
+1 Even if Biden manages to get his party and mouthpiece media to put the focus back on Trump, America still saw what is staring them in the face. We all have aging parents and grandparents. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck. I can’t believe hardliners think they can gaslight America.
We all see with our own eyes, week in and week out, new jawdropping videos of Trump's incoherent rambling, 5th grade vocabulary and slurred speech staring us in the face. Trump walks like a duck and talks like a duck. But we're not going to talk about him AT ALL and we're going to make that senile, demented convicted felon our next President because we only cared about harping on the other slow old guy. Please make it make sense.
