Only if they can, there will be less supply.  The hope is to turn SFH dreams into small apartment dreams.

The neighborhoods exempt from this will have their property values increased over the long term and the neighborhoods exposed to this will have theirs deceased over the long term.  Although, there will be a short term bump until they start getting built.[/quote]

Agreed, early speculation will drive prices up for homes at the lower end of the market.  Over time, growth in value of homes that were at the upper end will slow or reverse as the neighborhoods decline.  At that point you might as well just pave the front yard for parking and divide your own home up as a rental property and find yourself a nicer area to move to.  [/quote]
