Nobody is "putting down" one over the other. They are sharing the basic facts of the two tournaments. Truly, there is no reason to get upset that your team isn't going to Disney. There is likely a good reason your team isn't going (though in my experience, it's one of two reasons: coach messed up and missed the deadline or coach wants to go to NFHCA and doesn't have a big enough club to attend both tournaments), but truly, Disney is a more competitive tournament. As a previous poster explained, the top college head coaches go and look very closely at sophomores and possibly last looks at juniors who are on the fence. Winter Escape does not attrac the top clubs and college coaches know the difference between the two. You claim that the "bottom line" is getting your DD seen, when there really is more to it than that. And knowledgeable parents, coaches, whoever, are just trying to share the correct information.[/quote]

There were nearly 175 in person coaches at Winter Escape, many of them head coaches. And for many schools, it's not the head coaches that go to these things at all and, instead, is very school specific.

The thing is that it is not an opinion. All you have to do is look at the teams and players who compete. I don't know why cannot accept that Winter Escape is just a different kind of showcase. It is not meant to be "competitive," while Disney is, unless, of course, your team is seeded into brackets outside the top 4 after pool play. Honestly, Disney is the only tournament outside of NCCs (and NITs to a degree) at which the top clubs and players are able to play each other. They do not play their top players--if they go at all--at Winter Escape. That's not what Winter Escape is for.[/quote]
