They cannot build more roads through there and they cannot expand the Parkway, nor can they build a new access ramp into the development. Add to it, Metro is a single (yellow) line into the site. The beauty of Gallery Place is that it sits on top of 3 lines and is a block from 2 others. In other words, no matter where in the region you live, you can take the metro and be back home within 40 minutes. With Potomac Yards, you have to take the yellow line back into town to transfer, or transfer to the Blue line to get on to the orange line to go west. This is a really difficult area from a transportation standpoint. And it isn't centrally located, and it isn't close to interstate highways.[/quote]
