His initial tox screen came back negative. That doesn’t mean he is clean for sure but it does mean he didn’t have any major illicit drugs in his system.
Illegal drugs were not suspected. That's just the process for the preliminary tox screen, followed by the more in-depth one. He had a number of prescription drugs on hand. The likely culprit, some mix that wasn't good with heat and possible dehydration.
There didn’t need to be any drug interaction or action to cause his death. A middle aged man with a weakened heart, fresh off a fatiguing two hour pickle ball session, enters a hot tub which has the known effect of causing lowered blood pressure and increased heart rate. A hot tub mixed with dehydrated body (two hours working out) and weakened addict heart is a clear recipe for cardiac arrest and drowning. As I type this I’m sick at heart that this is, of course, the big question and obsession of so many people right now. Personally I hope he was sober but I’m sure he has some therapeutic levels of various stuff and some people will see that as the reason even if not. I just wish he had been careful about his recovering body and using the tub. He should have always had his assistant or some other person in attendance while using the tub. I hope some of the middle aged people with possible heart disease (many of us have some degree of it by midlife without even knowing it) reading about his death will reconsider using their own tubs solo because this is not a rare occurrence, it is very easy to pass out from the cardiovascular effects of hot tub immersion and then drowning is very easy from there.
Do you play pickleball pp? I do and I can tell you it isnt that taxing!
Yeah, and how long did you spend on ECMO? He was lucky to be alive given what his heart had already been through.
No because I'm not an addict. Look I'm almost finished reading his book and he does not come off looking well. Let's face it he was a total narcissist..blaming everyone for his mistakes and treating his family/ girlfriends/friends really poorly. He even admits it! Sorry he wasted his life.
He entertained millions in a career that spanned decades, and published a highly successful memoir aimed at helping people suffering from addiction. To say he “wasted his life” is objectively false and stupid.
Ah yes but, he treated people in real life horribly including his family and his many girlfriends whom he cheated on! He had no moral compass and blamed others for his addictions. Sure he was a good actor but, that does not make him a good person! He wasted his life because when he wasn't filming he was DRUNK or HIGH. He was constantly contacting drug dealers and trying to get high. Then his time was spent in rehab. He was always drunk or high. How is that not wasting his life? He admitted that people stood by him in rehab and spent five months sitting with him while in the hospital ( after his colon exploded) And how did he thank them? He didn't! You should read the book. He is a massive narcissist and a big loser.
Didn’t he claim in his memoir at times he was hungover or high on set? Also said his only Emmy nomination for the show came the year he was in rehab, driven to/from work. And yet he claims the alcohol/drugs didn’t affect his work. Really? Pretty obvious it did.
Ask how many seasons that “Friends” fans enjoyed the character of Chandler, and the show’s writing, which Perry was the only cast mate assisted with. I think you’ll find the answer is all 10, Emmy nods or no Emmy nods. For 10 years, he portrayed one of the most memorable and enjoyable characters on television, beloved by millions. That’s all.
