On another note, I randomly watched A River Runs Through It yesterday, and young Brad Pitt has to be the most gorgeous being on earth. I’d forgotten…
Never ever forget
He was so gorgeous and sunshine-y back then. Unfortunate the dark turn he took. Seems to have gotten his life back on track pretty quickly, but I also totally get why Jolie still hates him. If he wasn't all that remorseful (maybe doesn't even remember how bad he was when drunk) and continued to try to control her financially, hard to forgive. Who knows, but I think at this point the kids are old enough to suss out what is healthy for them and that seems to be mom. If he had agreed to something like 30-70 custody (supervised for a period of time) and given her a quick and fair financial settlement, maybe the ongoing toxicity could have been avoided. I doubt she's an angel in all of this, but boy has he coasted on the pr-honed charm of his public persona. He is a king in Hollywood, catered to and accustomed to getting whatever he wants.
Ha. Jolie fought everything in the divorce and didn't want to share custody at all - not even with school (the kids were homeschooled by nannies and governesses for most of their childhood). Her bizarre parenting and behavior before, during, and after their divorce is why she gets so little sympathy.
