Let’s not forget school closures, job loss, financial struggles, social isolation, etc. Just like you breathlessly proclaiming how “self centered” you learned everyone was, we also learned how completely awful and dismissive your kind was towards the hardships others faced these past 2 years. Job loss, virtual schooling, suicides, etc. All you see is Covid, when it became so much more than that. But you obviously don’t see it that way because you probably didn’t have the same experiences others did. I genuinely don’t understand the way your brain works. Ahh, the drama llama of the anti-masker. Masks didn’t cause people to lose their jobs. Virtual learning didn’t cause suicide but it may have prevented school shootings.

Funny how virtual learning was sooo bad (and I know kids who thrived with it and those who struggled) and yet almost every parent who suddenly became a teleworker never want to go back to the office. In the long run it wasn’t the worst thing that kids got a little glimpse of their future working life.

Yet many of us wore our masks when mandated and got vaccinated. I can’t help it that you’ve decided to invent your own parameters for what is morally good, beyond what is reasonable and necessary. I could invent my own parameters for goodness and scream at you about how lacking you are, but that would be crazy. You don’t seem to realize that.

And by the way, not everyone had the chance to telework and happily manage their kids’ online school. It’s blindingly clear you got to ride out Covid in comfort. Others did not. +1. Excellent display of privilege. What about the families who don’t have laptops, internet, or child care to ensure their kids attend virtual school? The single parents who have to work (at home or in person) and can’t get their six year old to pay attention to an online class? What about the kids who don’t get a warm meal or a meal at all if they’re not in school? And before you shriek at me that I dont care about them anyway, that’s not answering my question.  We participated in many food drives and food collection and bagging events that support these communities, and have given money to our local PTA food bank. Stop acting like virtual school was a minor inconvenience and kids were barely affected. [/quote]

As bad as that was for them, it would have been collectively worse for everyone without virtual school, telecommuting, etc., with everyone congregating together.
