and just like w any dcum thread If you question white people, white standards, white hegemony they get testy Keep your kid reading Shakespeare and I’m sure they will be happy, successful adults with amazing critical thinking skills like you
Lady Cannon, you found out about the literary canon existence last week. Last evening you also found out that sometimes is it also called the western canon. Today you are fighting white supremacy, because how kids see themselves described in the books they read. Just to point again how stupid your comments are, you want students to study Tales of Genji, a Japanese work, in the English literature class! Now for you bragging posts, the intern that brings the coffee is not a professional, 22 year olds are not professionals either, they start at a junior level positions, and through years of hard work become professionals. Nothing to be ashamed of, thats the career trajectory for most people. Also, K street professional is an oxymoron. 100 books this year alone huh? coloring books don't count :). Most people I know, true professionals, not the fake forum variety, have read maybe a quarter to a half of the canon, depending on what lists you look at. But, here it comes the 22 year old blazing through tome after tome and putting them to shame. You dont write like and read 100 books a year, definitely don't organize your ideas well, or have the vocabulary to show for it. If that were the case, how do you confuse cannon with canon? Old money and prep school? Doesn't matter to me, but since you brought it up, if you lie about your forum identity, the books you read, and your job, I'll take that with a grain of salt. Please tell us more how you are questioning white people, white standards, and white hegemony. Care to elaborate what you mean by questioning and on what those white standards might be? Can you clarify the concept of white hegemony in the context of Shakespeare, and how minorities are affected by it? I think you only scratched the sufrace on this very important topic.
