I'm a conservative woman but I work, wear synthetic wigs so I can change hair color at will, am pro birth control, and like Biden.
I'm a conservative woman. I work, am ivy league educated, pro-birth control, pro-choice, etc. The stereotypes aren't helpful. In my case, I became conservative (despite disagreeing about many things) once I got the memo on what teacher's unions are doing to education. I'm also disgusted at the prospect of spending 3.5t, respect law enforcement, and didn't appreciate not just having my window broken in the "peaceful protesting" but came to resent that I couldn't even dare mention that anything un-peaceful happened. Bye.
IF YOU ARE NOT PRO-LIFE, YOU ARE *NOT* A CONSERVATIVE!!
Why not? I consider myself pro-life, I think life begins at conception. I think there’s a sanctity to the life that a woman carries in her womb. But I also respect that women need to make decisions for themselves with regards to abortion.
The pp conservative describes me well. I was liberal but I slowly morphed into a conservative over the past 2 years. It's the "agree with us or you will pay" mentality of the left that made me reconsider my views. But I'm still pro choice and one thing I have learned through reading polling rsults is that many conservatives are pro choice. For me, idea that the government can't force someone to carry a pregnancy seems very compatible with conservative ideology.
You don’t sound particularly principled if the “woke police” have caused you to do a complete 180 on the proper role of government. But I do agree about your point - you’d think being pro choice is compatible with conservative ideology, but conservatives have decided long ago that they only way they we’re going to advance their pro-business agenda was to do whatever it took to capture the pro-forced birth single issue voting block. But really, forcing some people to birth children isn’t such a far stretch from believing that well off business owners should be free to employ people in substandard conditions for slave wages on misguided theories about the market and the power (or lack there of) of an individual, starving laborer. I mean, everyone has “choice” here right? If people weren’t dumb, they wouldn’t be forced to work for $7.50/hr in toxic conditions. They could just walk to the next employer offering $7.55/hr and split shifts incompatible with having any sort of life. If sluts didn’t choose to be sluts, they wouldn’t have to birth children that they would be strongly encouraged, for lack of supports, to relinquish to their social betters. Even though I abhor their principles and think they are terrible for society and encourage free loading, I can respect a principled conservative. But really, many modern conservatives have very populist, very authoritarian views that have nothing to do with individual choice and principles. It’s all about grievance, domination, and fear. Kind of pathetic, really.
