There's a lot we could do differently to reduce the probability of such a hateful and stupid murder.

First, the Mayor should explain why that crazy guy was freely roaming the streets, and why the same won't happen next time.

You are one of the unhinged we should be worried about!  Why would I be ashamed?  I am one of many who is saddened by her death.  You can talk to the mayor, you can take karate you can do whatever you want but Wendy is still dead unfortunately and yelling at me to "see a psychiatrist" or "be ashamed" will not bring her back.  If it can happen to her it can happen to anyone.
