[/quote] If Thelma was a religious person, she probably took the fact that Larla was her GOD-DAUGHTER very seriously and treated her as if she was an actual daughter. Churches mandate that a godparent has a responsibility toward a godchild. Larla was not just some random distant relative. That was mentioned repeatedly in the thread, both by Larla and othr posters.
