We're setting up rides to get hospital staff to work safely because they're not safe if they have dark skin or an accent. I took care of a black man who was beaten by ICE in the care facility where he worked, pleading that the agents check his pocket for his papers. After they roughed him up, checked his pocket to confirm he was a citizen, they moved on to the next black employee. They're not looking for dangerous criminals. In some cases, they're going door to door in neighborhoods demanding residents prove their citizenship. In my neighborhood, there was a checkpoint where all drivers were stopped and asked for proof of citizenship. This is happening in the United States. Please don't ignore this. This is not who we are. This is not freedom. Do what you can to help. History is screaming at us.
