The fate of the hostages is tragic. My heart hurts for their families.  But I find vigils like this one that are one sided sickening. Basically what it is saying is that an Israeli life is worth 200x a Palestinian. Something is sick in that equation.

Now a vigil that is for all who are suffering in the region, that I can rally for.

I don’t find the vigil is bothersome at all. The grief isn’t shared so why would there be a mutual vigil? You’re thinking of something that will never ever happen. Many Palestinians and Jews think the other side deserves it and more [/quote]
Grief isn't about whether "the other side deserves it." The vigil was for the hostages. That's not to say there isn't other pain and tragedy in the region. But we don't deny people their pain and their ability to come together to mourn their own losses. We can even mourn the deaths of the hostages and support the families of the hostages still being held while also lamenting Palestinian deaths. That's just not what the vigil was about.[/quote]
