People are being way too mom-ish about this being a "parade" like you're taking your kids and going to be sitting in the sun and passing out goldfish. Her outfit was fine for that. Everyone else took it as a serious state event to honor Trump's birthday and dressed in more formal business attire. Your outfit can be cute but you can't really have nailed it if you look like "the cheese stands alone" who was the only one who didn't get the dress code memo.
Exactly. Honestly if I saw a mom wearing that at the 4th of July parade in my parents' beach town, I'd be like, okay best dressed! It was a lovely outfit for A patriotic parade. It was not the right outfit for THIS patriotic parade. I stand by my earlier statement that it's like no one is bothering to tell her, or maybe they do and she just thinks she's too good to follow the rules. Maybe she just doesn't notice or care? To be honest, it's incredibly weird she and JD presumably left the house at the same time, she saw him in his suit and tie, and didn't realize it was more formal than she was anticipating. If my husband and I were going to an event, and I came downstairs wearing her outfit but saw my husband in a suit and tie, I'd be like...oh, shit, do I need to go change?
Yes, a more apt comparison would be looking at Princess Kate at the last parade she took her kids to (Trooping of the Colour). How is she dressed and how are her kids dressed? This is clearly how the rest of the Trump admin were viewing this event vs Usha.
