It makes sense if Prep wants to leave the IAC. He can guide them. It makes sense if it also includes the AD position. Didn’t his youngest just graduate? Maybe he wants a change after decades. While McDonough is in a lovely part of Maryland, maybe he wants a more robust city and a new challenge. It could be as simple as that. If it is true. For people in the know, when will this be announced.
Don’t listen to the “Prep wants to leave the IAC” stuff. That’s pure conjecture based on almost nothing of substance. I guess it’s possible that Paro might retire, but he’d have to give up a free house. And his mentor, Jim Fegan, is over 90 and still at Prep. They would have to force him out and that would be hard to do. He got the job with a significant push from alums from his Prep class. The other schools might tire of competing with Prep but the school’s larger size doesn’t seem to be having any significant impact on the various sport. And Landon, Bullis and STA don’t have anywhere else to go. I can see EHS and SSSA considering alternatives. You could put together a private school league in which the schools would rarely have to cross over the American Legion bridge at rush hour. SSSA, EHS, Potomac, Flint Hill, BI and O’Connell would be a good all- Nova, all sports league.
