Yes, I actually believe it.  And the cases of the various J6 criminals that have been convicted in court upholds that.  Now, do I believe that ALL rioters were trying to overthrow the government?  No.  I believe that of the thousands of rioters, that there were several hundred, maybe one thousand that were truly violent terrorists who were trying to overthrow the government.  But Trump sent a mob of over 10K to the Capitol and the mob was there covering for the terrorists.  It's very much akin to Hamas hiding amongst the Palestinian population and using the general population as human shields.  Likewise, the terrorists used the MAGA mob as shields to hide their actions.

There were hundreds who came to the Capitol with military grade gear.  There were those who came with zip ties, knives, duct tape and other kidnapping equipment with the intent of kidnapping any Democratic lawmaker they could find, specifically looking for Nancy Pelosi, but willing to kidnap any Democratic lawmaker that could stop the proceedings.  There were those who came and broke through windows to enter the building.  There were those who broke into offices in the Capitol, looking for lawmakers to either assault or kidnap.  There were those who wanted to kidnap the Vice President.  There were hundreds of terrorists, some from the Oathbreakers, some from the Proud Boys and from various other domestic terrorist groups who planned to interrupt the counting of the electoral college in order to force a change of the reported electoral college and illegally return President Trump to the White House.  The first goal was to stop the counting of the electoral college.  The second goal was to change the count.  In some cases, they thought they could force VP Pence to accept the false slate of electors from several states which they believed would turn the electoral college vote.  In other cases, they thought that Pence could invalidate pro-Biden electors, by refusing to accept the electoral votes on fabricated grounds.

So far, there have been nearly 600 that have been convicted of crimes related to January 6.  Of those, nearly 200 have been convicted of serious federal felonies, and most of those are ones that have been related to crimes intended to stop the counting of the electoral college and possibly to force a false electoral college count.  So, while not everyone who participated was guilty of insurrection and sediction, a significant portion of them were and they were using the mob to hide themselves and to give them cover to actually disrupt the federal election process.[/quote]
