I'm totally tired of Kate's "I'm fat" storyline. Randall is an amazing character. I find the dad (Jack?) very interesting, too.
I am too. Enough already.
I think SHE is tired of it too. I think the show is pointing out, if you're different, this stuff finds you. Here she is, getting a new job, doing great at it, nothing to do with her size. And the rude teen brings it up. I am not overweight. But have talked with friends who are, and you know, I think they're tired of it. I think they face it sometimes, but most of the time they want to focus on other stuff. So it's going to keep being a storyline. It's a part of her, it affects her. And even when she wants to focus on other aspects of her self, it comes back.
Yes. I am overweight (need to lose 75-100lbs) and my weight affects everything. My interactions with people, my self esteem, my relationships, my feelings of self worth. Unless you are seriously overweight, you have no idea how is affects a person.
Yeah, I weigh like 235 or so and my weight affects so much. Yesterday I went to use a public bathroom and practically had to straddle the toilet to close the door. I keep having to yank my shirt down from the back so the collar in the front goes up and I don't show cleavage. When I pass someone in the hallway I always worry about there being enough room for both of us. I have lots of physical problems. I worry about breaking chairs (never happened), taking up too much space in life, my DD being embarrassed by me or being teased about me, etc.
Hugs to you. I think it's perfectly fine to put your thoughts here regarding your weight. I was obese for decades and for those who have never struggled with this issue, it would be hard to understand. You have to think about ordinary things in a whole different light. Even after I lost the weight, it took my mind quite some time to catch up. Re: Kate on the show. She is supposed to have struggled with her weight since childhood so these issues would be long ingrained and the only life she knows.
