You may be onto something. They get moved to WJ and, to solve Woodward underutilization and WJ overcrowding, all three NBMS elementary schools get moved to Woodward.[/quote]

Ashburton kids walk to WJ. Ashburton’s not going anywhere. The walk zones overlap but are complicated by the highways and WJ sitting inside the triangle created by the 270 spurs and 495.  MCPS walk zones generally don’t require even HS kids to cross highways.

The options that made utilization numbers more equal between WJ and Woodward also required more split articulation than the Superintendent’s recommendation, and one thing pretty much all communities have agreed on in their feedback is disliking split articulation.

There just isn’t an “easy” better alternative. Especially if VM and WW families prefer to articulate together to the same HS. The area between VM and WW has been going to WJ via GPES/Tilden for years and from what I’ve heard is happy with WJ, but people want what they want and are best positioned to advocate for themselves, their kids, their school community. Moving that northern part of GPES back to WJ would create a WJ island, which the current recommendation seems to be trying to avoid. But it might help the utilization disparity in a way that doesn’t require split articulation of additional ESs[/quote]
