That is very logical. North Potomac, Travilah, and Darnestown go to Ridgeview / QO. The City of Gaithersburg schools go to Lakelands / Crown. Falls Grove and Ritchie Park to Wooton.
Not gonna happen. FG is close to Crown. RPES bring upper income to RMHS if FG moves to Crown.
FG is actually closer to Wootton but only about 1/2 a mile. But unless they take out Travilah or Dufief the traffic would be terrible on the one lane Wootton Parkway. I think they just need to move Horizon Hill neighborhood to the very undercrowded Cold Spring ES so they can be walkers and leave the rest of RPES going into RM. But moving Wayside to Wootton before considering Ritchie Park, which half would be walkers to Wootton, is a terrible idea
They are not gong to change ES boundaries no matter how much people keep wishing for it.
Pulling Wayside past 3-4 other ES that go to other MS/HS to a further high school is terrible. Just move all of Ritchie Park to Wootton then. Half of them can walk to Wootton. At least make it make sense.
There are four factors that they will look at, one of which is demographic mix. Moving RPES to Wootton goes against the demographic mix for SES. It's pulling an UMC out of RMHS, which they won't do. BTW, I live in the RPES cluster. They won't move us. I'd be shocked if they do.
Besides Twinbrook, all the other feeder schools to RM are MC and UMC. And they are considering moving FG and King Farm out which are the two priciest neighborhoods that go to RM. So they don’t care that much. And moving Wayside instead of RPES makes Wootton more Asian and more money. So all against their demographics. So stop using that. Walkers and less buses and traffic in this county, should be the highest priority anyway.
FG goes to RPES. I would not call KG area UMC. The wealthiest ES is RPES. Look at the FARMS rate of the ES feeders to JWMS. RPES has a very low FARMs rate compared to the rest of the ES. They are not going to pull RPES out of RMHS. That's a pipe dream. Again, I live in that cluster.
RM has Derwood, King Farm, Woodley Gardens, College Gardens, West End...plenty of $1M homes outside of RPES.
RM has half of King Farm currently.
The half with the pricy single family homes.
Nope. Pricey single family homes — both detached and attached — on both sides of the neighborhood.
No..town houses and condos north of Redland.
I guess I’ll tell the people who live in detached single family homes north of Redland that they don’t exist 🤣. There are also condos, town houses and apartments south of Redland.
I'm a NP, but the single family homes north of Redland are called "carriage homes" and are significantly smaller, and on smaller lots.
