Tons of satellites are launched from Wallop’s Island (NASA) in Virginia from the Eastern Shore.  There are always panicked inquiries on RVA and OBX Facebook boards.  Most of them are for Starlink.  They are visible for miles.  Musk’s trash. [/quote]

They launch from Florida. You can see 2-3 minutes of the 2nd stage burn from the DC area on pre-dawn SpaceX Florida launches if the sky is clear and dark. The sun over the horizon illuminates the exhaust plume from the 2nd stage in spectacular fashion. You can see the ion trail from the exhaust plume stretching back 20-30 miles from the 2nd stage engine. It’s an amazing sight. [/quote]
