That’s not my take. Violet reminds me of the daughter of a cousin of mine. The dad’s an alcoholic, the parents went through a chaotic divorce. The daughter has low self esteem and she a total people-pleaser/peacemaker type, just like many kids of alcoholics are. She is polite to everyone and always trying to make the adults in her life happy. It’s really sad. [/quote]
