I am 100% pro-choice. But I think using abortion as a method of birth control is simply disgusting. Unfortunately, there’s too much nuance to write it into the law. People will say “only if it’s medically necessary” and then they’ll be 10,000 reasons why something is medically necessary, or 10,000 reasons why it is not medically necessary. Unfortunately the only option is to make 100% legal in any case. Because you end up punishing the people who really need it if you try to put conditions on it. I continue to be pro choice (and always will), but people who about babies simply because they don’t want them are disgusting to me. Are you a woman who knows firsthand the consequences of pregnancy on your body both during and after pregnancy? Let’s say you have just received the opportunity of a lifetime, something that would lead to all sorts of fantastic things for you and your family, you already have 3 kids who are all in school, you are 42 years old with a history of difficult pregnancies, and then your husband’s vasectomy fails and you find yourself accidentally pregnant which would derail your excellent once-in-a lifetime opportunity. You think it’s disgusting for a woman in such a situation to decide at 6 weeks to take medication to end that pregnancy? The “simply because they don’t want them” is such a disingenuous argument. Easy to make when you have no f’n clue what a woman or girl might be facing. Hahahahahaha. I have two children. Had very difficult pregnancies. So please, spare me your “you have no idea what you’re talking about” BS. Yes. I 100% think it’s disgusting. I would personally never do that. I had sex. I got pregnant. I would have the baby. My husband and I did many other things besides PIV sex to assure that I didn’t get pregnant when I didn’t want to. Is it easy? Not really. But we did it. We made it fun. No regrets. How tiresome and self righteous you are. That is what is disgusting. I mean we’re all entitled to our opinions. You think I’m disgusting because I never had an abortion. I think people who have had abortions simply because they don’t want a baby are disgusting. Really, in the grand scheme of things, neither of our opinions make a difference. We both want the right to choose. Again, that's not what is disgusting. Your blind judgment is disgusting. I have never had an abortion either -- but all my closest circle of friends have. Many of your friends have as well, but I imagine they keep that from you. Mind your own reproductive decisions. And get TF out of my vagina. Nobody cares about your vagina. The baby you don’t care about is your own son or daughter, and has no one to care for him or her. Birth control is your vagina’s bff. Society doesn’t have the unlimited capacity to deal with your unwanted children or unlimited taxpayer money to pay for your abortions.
I would wager that the cost of abortion is not nearly as high as dealing with unwanted children.
Using reliable birth control like an implant, pill, IUD, as well as a condom, would be the most cost effective option to avoid pregnancy, unwanted children, and abortion.
To avoid pregnancy most of the time. There are a million reasons why a woman may need to end a pregnancy. She does not need to explain it to you. It’s her body.
I am a taxpayer and have been a taxpayer for decades. I pay my taxes voluntarily and also donate to multiple charities. My tax dollars pay for abortion and birth control. I think if a woman has decided she wants to kill her healthy baby, she should not use taxpayer money to do so. I think if American taxpayers are paying for birth control and abortion rates are climbing, giving people free birth control is a waste of taxpayer dollars. I see billboards daily that advertise free birth control delivered to your home in a confidential manner. Taxpayers are paying for the billboard, the birth control, the abortion, the home delivery. Abortion is increasing. Democrats expect us not to notice safe, legal, and rare is actually money laundering.
