The “achievement gap” refers to the SES and racial achievement gap.  But her own party kept schools closed during Covid 19, even after 90% of the teachers were vaccinated (and vaccinated first), which is what caused much of the achievement gap we need to address.  Also, her party often opts to address the achievement gap from “the top down” by eliminating or reducing top level course work for the best students.  Virginia-specific examples of her party doing this are the unsuccessful VMPI fiasco, the N-cubed elementary math initiative to eliminate/ replace AAP because: equity, and also the “equity grading” some schools are allowed to implement (grading based on the kids skin color). Which leads to her promise:

- Translated, she believes “homework is racist.”  She wants to eliminate the additional learning and proficiency gained through student homework because:  equity.  The rest of her promises on the site are more of the same.

She represents more of the same failed focus and destructive policies of the current, disastrous school board.

If you vote for her, you are voting against your child’s best interests.[/quote]
