It's been held there for decades - since at least the 1980s if not before then.  I've always thought how wonderful it is that we have access to this gorgeous and historic building.  Our relatives across the country can't believe our kids get to graduate there.[/quote]

It’s on the U.S. National Registry of Historic Places and a National Historic Landmark.  It was designed by the architect of the Archives, the Jefferson Memorial, and the original National Gallery of Art. It’s the largest auditorium in the Nation’s Capital.  It’s in a classic style, but was also renovated within the last decade.

Thank goodness you are in the minority here. As someone who worked downtown every day for 25 years, I can handle getting down to DAR as well. It is a gorgeous historic building and I feel fortunate that our commitment exercises are held there. [/quote]
