It was murder.

The pills that she was alleged to have overdosed on had the street name “yellow jackets” and, among medical examiners, was famous for staining the stomach yellow. Her stomach wasn’t yellow. She was likely deliberately overdosed with an enema of drugs, hence her housekeeper (who is alleged to have been involved either in the initial crime or in the coverup) washing the sheets in the wee hours of the morning when the police arrived.
