It's more helpful than the generic stuff online.  A 4.5 GPA from public high schools doesn't translate to a GPA from STA.  Not to mention you don't know the other factors that helped that 4.5 PS kid get in.[/quote]

Except that Sidwell kids aren't doing so well this year with prestigious universities, who don't want to accept privileged kids anymore, who are boring and add nothing to classroom discussions, and have have extensive advantages in terms of test prep, tutoring, etc., that public schools don't have.

Don't forget that. Doesn't look pretty this year for Sidwell.

Same at BCC. And we are nothing compared to all the kids across our nation who have grown up in really difficult circumstances, without any privilege at all. Those kids are being seen by universities as the kids who really deserve a second look. Kids who might change the world.
