+1.  Agree.  This student was admitted!  Hooray!  (And spring admission does not seem to be a "setback", as my neighbor's son is doing that now, and he is living in the dorm and functioning as a fall admit.)[/quote]

Spring admits can still take classes in fall semester. there are a few restrictions to follow but it's not really semester behind. Also, it's not how you start, it's how you finish 4 years later. [/quote]

Congratulations! This is all very good.  Please do not be disappointed because this is a blessing.   My neighbor's son started at UMD in Spring and he used the one semester before to get a sales job. Ended with a business degree.  Today he is raking in $$$$$ in tech sales. He credits his first job as being instrumental in opening the path for him.

Besides, you have a great chance of keeping an eye on COVID spread.  Do you know how many people are actually deferring their colleges because they do not want to be stuck in a dorm doing remote learning?[/quote]
