Most College coaches don’t have a bloody clue how to recruit. Rarely do even half their recruits make it all 4 years and the same teams see success while the others continue to fail year after year.
Sounds like the new Pride line to keep those checks coming in after their recruiting failures….
Not affiliated with Pride. This is a general comment. It has been reported that 1 on 3 college athletes will either quit or be asked to leave their teams before their 4 years is up. Don't know if this takes into account injuries. And don't know if this ratio holds true for womens lacrosse. The important thing for these players to consider is choosing a school they love above all else and can see themselves attending without sports. And making sure it's a good academic fit that aligns with their professional interests and academic level. Every year there are great high school players who burn out and opt not to play at that level. There may be players, maybe more so parents, who want to see their kids commit somewhere, but it would be foolish to think kids will not burn out in college. Playing D1 is a big time commitment that will not fit everyone's desired college experience. While the number may not be half as suggested by the PP the data seem to support a number of commits you may know from your club team may not make it all 4 years.
