I can understand the concern but to me, the fact that all these same people are intermingling and close together at the pool, during swim practice, etc tells me having stricter requirements at B meets would accomplish nothing since it isn’t being done consistently across all situations.[/quote]

PP here. Yeah, I agree. Maybe even “slightly concerned” is too strong of a description but I did think about how many unvaccinated adults were involved. I guess it was more of an observation.[/quote]

Which pool is that? Do you have to show the vaccination card?

If we did that we wouldn’t have enough guards to open the pool on a regular day and we wouldn’t have enough volunteers to run a swim meet.[/quote]

I don’t want to say which one because some people on this board are crazy. We asked all our volunteers to fill out a form, not show their card. If they didn’t want to, that is ok, they just can’t volunteer on deck. Our community has a very high vaccination rate so we knew going in that our reps, head and assistant coaches and lead volunteers were all vaccinated. It wasn’t hard. From talking with parents, almost all of our 12yr+ swimmers are vaccinated.

Our employees aren’t required to be vaccinated but heavy encouraged. Almost all are members of the pool and we know their parents and know they have been vaccinated. [/quote]

Thanks. I just don’t see how we could afford to require that. We can’t afford to lose memberships (we lost about 1/8 due to restrictions last year) and the swim team would have a difficult time getting enough volunteers. We don’t have any employees so that’s not an issue. [/quote]

Makes sense for your pool. Seems your area is more vaccine resistant. We have 4+yr waitlist for members, so losing members isn’t an issue for us. [/quote]

It might be somewhat more resistant. Many are vaccinated. There is a lot we could do differently if we had a wait list. [/quote]
