I’m on our club’s board. I’m not one who has bee ultra cautious, but I’ve followed rules in place, I’m vaccinated and typically masked now. I went to the B meet Monday and I’ll admit I came away slightly concerned due to the tightness on deck and knowing how many people (Team rep, assistant team rep, referee, on duty pool-op, person grilling, 2 of 4 assistant coaches, some timers) in addition to the 11 and under crowd are not vaccinated. I am reassured by low community numbers and the fact they are outdoors.
I can understand the concern but to me, the fact that all these same people are intermingling and close together at the pool, during swim practice, etc tells me having stricter requirements at B meets would accomplish nothing since it isn’t being done consistently across all situations.
PP here. Yeah, I agree. Maybe even “slightly concerned” is too strong of a description but I did think about how many unvaccinated adults were involved. I guess it was more of an observation.
Or maybe don’t be on a team with so many unvaccinated volunteers/employees.
