So your kid had MV, but still didn’t get the most rigorous box due to English? What about history and science?

It is hard to get much info out of a public school counselor.
When I asked the counselor if he could check most rigorous box, he said NO, because there was no AP English.  DC had AP history and all honor science classes and AP CS.  So I said, how about  DC takes AP English senior year, and I never got a response.  Pandemic hit, everything got whacky, SAT testing got delayed multiple times, eventually got it done this fall, got 1540, never heard back from the counselor.   Did not push it.  Also, counselor said DC gpa was at around 35% of class--which I have a hard time believing.   But this was based only on 9th and 10th grade GPA, no junior and senior.

VT is likely better fit for my DC, so all is well.

I am just saying there is so much build up around UVA, that someone with a decent shot should go for it.  We just got spooked and wanted an ED acceptance and be done.[/quote]
