The PCSB does not intervene in these issues; their only oversight role, under the law, is to review charter applications to open and continue schools, assess if academic goals are being met and review financial management. Only the latter two will get a school closed or reprimanded. They can and do also intervene behind the scenes if they receive reports of problems with how they handle student discipline (e.g. suspensions/expulsions) and meet the needs of special needs students. The SSMA Board is really the only entity with leverage. You could try to get a reporter with the Washington Post or City Paper interested in it as a story (publicity could work)[/quote]
