Once kids are about two or older, being in a group setting for at least part of the day is good for them.  But it would be so great if the maternity leave policies in this country were better and gave parents...both parents...opportunities to be home with kids under two and then smoothly return to the work force.  And for any parents that work at any time, we need to invest more in our childcare to make it a safe, wonderful place for all kids, not just kids whose parents have a good bit of money.[/quote]
