I am sure the Iranians have there underwater drones in the water and on standby. As soon as US ships start to escort tankers the underwater drones will be activate. The US navy is not set up to handle that. Remember in addition to the underwater drones there will be missiles and drones flying through the air. [/quote]

Not only do the Iranians have underwater drones, they also have drone ships, kamikaze unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) designed for explosive attacks in the Persian Gulf and Red Sea. These small vessels, which are difficult to detect, have targeted commercial tankers. Having the most powerful navy and Air Force in the world, as the US does, is not always enough to win the overall battle.
