Move heaven and earth to get your kid on an ECNL/GA 1-1.5 hours away OR play rec! The stuff that gets posted here is further proof that long term SSRI use has adverse effects.
I’m on your side in this debate, but I’m also a long term SSRI user. These drugs are among the most commonly prescribed in the US so statistically, it’s highly likely you know someone close to you who has been taking them (or will be, like when your kids go to college), but you wouldn’t know cause you make comments like this. Anyway, I do not agree that RL or lower-level travel teams are just glorified rec, but even if it was, why would it bother anyone? RL parents are “wasting” their own $ and their kids will never play NL kids, so why waste energy on putting them down?
Agreed my DD plays on a ECNL-R team and has (3) D-1 commits. I do not think Regional league is REC soccer at all
That is great to hear that collage coaches do indeed take a look at RL. What I have seen at least in this area, RL teams don’t offer any growth opportunities. Hardly Arlington RL.
On the boys' side they barely look at ECNL, frankly. I have a son in ECNL and one in MLSNext. Major difference. Sidelines this morning at MLSFlex were loaded with college coaches and national team scouts there. It just doesn't happen like that in boy's ECNL and the caliber of schools that come out is generally lower.
Either you are blind or full of $hit. My sons are both with ENCL teams and starting at U17 you will find 20 plus scouts at during each half. You should be ashamed about promoting misinformation.
Not. OMG. The sheer number at one of the big MLS events massively dwarfs your 20 scouts...and there are also MLS and National team scouts. AT my kid's game in Phoenix the sidelines were 4 deep of college coaches. I have no reason to lie. I have a kid in each league.
^ and I thought like you until my older one moved over to MLSN at U17 last year.
