Every general knows that 12 days of an air campaign does not change a country the size of Alaska with 93 million people. And they can tell you that shutting down the Strait of Hormuz was an obvious consequence of attacking Iran, which is very difficult to counter with air power alone. The problem is that the US government is run by politicians who are idiots. We have a president who was absolutely played by Israel. Not much the military can do about that.
