His backpack was likely in the master with Joe with the knife. They retrieved it and went where? Presumably she was upstairs, otherwise too hard and messy to move. Were they sleeping separately by that point? Was forensic evidence found in a guest BR? If that is where she was she may never have seen JR, perhaps heard shots but may have been unconscious. Maybe whatever sleeping aid, Ambien, etc. caused her to not die/bleed as quickly as they expected? Or maybe they needed all the time between calls to move and stage? Did they attempt to clean blood evidence that indicated moving CB?

This is like a super sick game of Clue. Had she been killed on the bed, not so many worries about forensics, that blood would have supported all versions of stories. Her being stabbed and then moved must have created a lot of blood trail. The staging not matching with the visible blood evidence + BB not asking about wife were likely what got LE focused on him immediately. Kneeling is very different blood evidence than standing, Joe was tall.

How was the child contained so she wouldn't run up looking for mommy? Or go outside to a neighbor?
