They had to kill CB after JR was in the house otherwise what if he did not show, car broke down, etc. and BB had stabbed her? Plus, he wanted to use a knife he had told JR to bring. Since that is the knife that did the stabbing per LE, she was killed after JR was there. Would only make sense he was shot quickly, maybe ambushed, he was a big guy, athletic, with martial arts background. They had to get him controlled with 2 weapons fast and eliminated as a threat to their sick plan.
