This project is now being framed as an entertainment district. If it's an entertainment district, what non-entertainment businesses will want to stay there? They say the casino will be just one floor of a larger hotel project. Ha! The only thing better than this would be to put a data center in the middle of all this. https://patch.com/virginia/herndon/s/k5k8n/union-rally-urges-governor-to-sign-fairfax-county-casino-bill?utm_source=local-update&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=alert&user_email=d3a0c6c6cd7d8950d5e1b6c80a0f75ca7bd8bba760903b3225276658c9eaf6e2&user_email_md5=385fcd1120b373837d9b5c2d29e75bb6&lctg=62d9b991d17907a86c0d419c
Ah , there it is.
Plans for the site include a luxury hotel, a convention center, a concert hall, and workforce housing.
I knew someone drag out the old workforce housing trope. I mentioned it earlier in the casino threads. I see the unions are allegedly pushing for this, but unions aren't required by the legislation anymore. Wonder what they were promised because Comstock isn't going to hire union laborers. Is Spanberger promising to kill right to work?
