People can find it distasteful but donating is voluntary. Clearly there are more destitute people out there if that is someone's metric for donations. Others feel moved by their connection to him personally and want to contribute.

I think the idea is that some of the people donating don't understand the financial situation. So yeah, it is a misrepresentation to ask for money to pay for a $4.7M house when they own other property. Why weren't those facts in the GFM?[/quote]
