Brown University banned guns. Rhode Island has some of the strictest gun control in the nation (AWB, mag restriction, et al). Why didn’t the laws dcum and the radical left support, the laws that make innocents completely defenseless, work?
I’ll bite. I’m a moderate, and I support moderate common sense gun laws. Strict gun laws don’t work in a country where all someone has to do is drive a state or two over and buy a gun there. I support the right to own guns, to a degree. Should people with serious mental health issues be allowed guns? Probably not.VT Should people be able to buy high capacity weapons of war? No. Whatever it is, it isn’t working to have different standards in different locations.
You have to travel quite far from Rhode Island to get a less restrictive set of gun laws. Mass, Ct, and NY have strict gun laws. That being said, the compliance rate with those gun laws is notoriously low. The more northern whitetopias (Maine, VT, NH) do not because gun crime is negligible. Even Bernie Sanders has tobe somewhat pro gun given VT.
