Believe me or not, I really don’t care. When one side is resorting to conspiracy theories and limp personal attacks and the other side isn’t, it’s incredibly obvious to everyone else watching which side is winning the argument.
It is the pro-Mamdani person who went on and on and on about the anti-Mamdani people not living here. Conspiracy theories? Childish? The Israel issue has been blown out of proportion. The vast majority of people who oppose Mamdani have that pretty low on their list of concerns. Because ultimately, he is running for mayor of NY, and that job has little to do with Israel. I am a generally anti-Mamdani Jew and I will be honest and say that I am frustrated with those who oppose him and keep harping on that issue. I am more concerned with his really poor response to it (he could have easily made it go away) than the potential for him truly being anti-semitic. I am still waiting for the pro-Mamdani person (I also think it is just one) to say one slightly negative thing about him. It really won't make you a worse person. I can say plenty of bad things about every candidate I have ever supported. As I have said before, they are being very Trumpy in their blind obedience.
No, actually that’s me. I’m one of the pro M posters who still doesn’t think you actually live here. Why is it so important to you for people to say what they don’t like about Mamdani? Weird. As you’ve pointed out over and over, he doesn’t have much experience, so there isn’t much to be upset with him over. Fwiw I ranked Cuomo first but he lost, so I’ve moved on.
It is so fun living rent free in your head with your obsession about whether all of the anti-Mamdani people actually live in NYC. And the one good part about Mamdani is that since I am living rent free in your head, my rent won't go up. I think you have thrown this at several people and several have given extremely specific details that would make it very clear that they live in NYC. Not that they should have to prove this. But you go on with your bad self.
I really don’t care where you live, but I think it’s laughable you post on here so obsessively, claiming NY will be ‘ruined’ under Mamdani, yet you don’t seem to have even a basic grasp of the current state of the city. So please explain to me. What’s your plan for schools since you’ll be staying in Palm beach? Funny that you can’t even begin to answer that, whereas every other NYC parent obsesses over these issues for months and years in advance. And let’s hear about all of these parks that are so awful now? Where’s that exactly? Genuinely curious because I want to make sure I avoid them!! And the ‘publishing houses’ in decline? I’d love to hear more about those. Which ‘publishing houses’? That’s really good info, so again, please let all of us know.
You are replying to multiple people. Not all of us agree on all of these issues. And posting obsessively? Pot. Kettle. Black. I happen to live near a very nice NYC park (though it could use some work). I am heading out to enjoy the beautiful weather here today in the park. Staying far away from the parade in Brooklyn - I wish them well but it is often chaotic (do you think that makes the news in Palm Beach?). Thanking my lucky stars that my kids are on the older side so we have had a great run in NYC publics (with some private mixed in) and will largely be done with schools before publics go downhill. This is NYC so I think there will always be some really good schools as the parents will make sure it will happen, but I'm not sure how many. The press has been awful about not pushing Mamdani about plans for schools. And I'm not just referring to SHSAT schools which everyone obsesses over even though they only impact a tiny percentage of kids. I'm talking about schools in general. He has said nothing and no one has asked. He does seem to want to expand programs for younger kids which I think is a good idea (see - I'm not 100% negative about him!).
