You’re making a bigger deal of it than it’s worth. Swimming is a “rich” kids sport anyways. You have to have enough money to join a pool, then join a team. A kneeskin isn’t going to make a difference between the haves and have nots. I can find one online for $50. Our team suit is $55.

My guess is that in swimming, it’s very concrete as to who is the best/fastest on the team, unlike field sports. Stop trying to find excuses as to why others are faster than your kids. It’s giving your children a complex and your anxiety about it will rub off on them. [/quote]

Your guess sucks.  Some teams have clear totem poles and some have many kids bunched within .5 sec of each other.

My child is the fastest in their age group on our team in every event but breaststroke, but not by a lot.  I would be mortified if someone beat my child’s time by a tenth of a second and then my child resorted to wearing a kneeskin in order to pass the other swimmer that earned the top spot in a training suit.

Can you please link that $50 kneeskin?  I have never seen one that inexpensive.

I have never bought anywhere else. She wears them during club season and at divisionals/all stars. We have two so we have a backup if one rips. I got both for $103 total on EBay.[/quote]
