The current white (2nd teams) will presumably play Aspire and gold will stay where they are (NCSL?). I know the MYS email said that Green would be Aspire, but I can't imagine that the club is going to attract a whole new roster at every age group to play GA. As a longtime MYS parent I spoke to directors and each age group will have a GA team and a GA aspire team. Like it was said earlier in the post the GA aspire section of the email is referring to the RL teams and players on those teams will also have the chance of trying out for the GA team. Also I grew up playing in the area including in college and with my kids playing at different clubs I’ve gotten to know a lot of coaches in the area. From what I gather MYS and NVA are going to GA…Bethesda will eventually be required to switch over to GA since GA is now partnered with MLS next and Arlington has put in a bid for MLS next but won’t find out if accepted until next winter which would switch them over to GA as well. I expected the change eventually just not this early due to problems at ECNL. It will be interesting to see since ECNL is changing age groupings and MLS next/GA is not. Overall these leagues and the changes are a mess and parents just have to do their best to navigate it as the landscape continues to change [/quote]
