Let’s not victim blame. Yes, his money and fame clearly come into play because she wouldn’t have even talked to him to start if he was some broke hobo who was married with three kids. She was 18 when they met and started dating and enthralled by his fame and wealth and charisma. And like many victims, likely began to feel so bad about herself over time and so ashamed that she allowed someone to treat her like this, she stayed. Until she really thought she might die. And the worst of it is that is the most dangerous time for a victim of DV is after they leave, and after they set a boundary and the abuser loses their control.
