There was another armed robbery spree throughout Ward 4 last night with hits on military road and elsewhere. Thankfully, and despite JLG’s continued effort to undermine their work, MPD arrested one of the suspects today.
Oh okay I get it. If it is bad, then we should lay that at the feet of JLG. If it is good, then clearly it happened in spite of her being present on this planet. Makes sense. Let's call it the JLG-centric Theory of the Bad-verse. You read it first on DCUM, folks!
When you have a leader who is explicitly anti-police, it is no surprise that armed crime sprees become a weekly commonplace in Ward 4.
Not just anti-police. She is the face of defunding the police. She wants to gut the police department. She's not shy about it.
The beauty of democracy is that I can vote for her, and understand that this whole thing is not true, no matter how many times you say it.
If you’re still alive to do so. Living in Ward 4, we’re taking our chances every day.
Tell me again you don't understand actual risk. You're more likely to get hurt driving around your new suburbs. Good luck!
I’m a different poster. Still in Ward 4 but hoping we see real change soon. Dismissing 4 armed robberies on a mathematical level of “risk assessment” is beyond pathetic and shows why crime is so rampant.
DP but even on a mathematical risk assessment I'm voting against JLG. 4 years ago the idea of a shooting in my immediate neighborhood was completely ridiculous. Now it's a twice-monthly event and my preschooler got shot at on a city bus at 3 in the afternoon, less than a quarter mile from my front door. Is Ward 4 Baghdad? No. Is it worse now than it was when George was elected. Absolutely yes. The real risk has gone up. And I don't think she's inciting crime personally or responsible for putting on a cape and stopping it all herself, but the little bit that councilpersons *can* do, she chooses not do or actively opposes. So I will vote for someone else, and hope that it doesn't just keep deteriorating and I'm not 3 years out from moving like the PP upthread.
Can you specify which particular policies JLG proposed that were adopted, funded, and implemented that led to this crime wave? I'll give you a hint - you cannot because this mess is the Mayor's, but she is afraid of taking on MPD's laziness and refusal to leave their precincts. Their response time has slowed dramatically because they are more likely to be twiddling their thumbs at the station than they are to be in the community. The police union has done an incredible job tricking you into thinking Defund did anything.
