4) Yorktown (1-1) – Some have been writing off the defending champs, but not many publics hang within single digits of SSSAS and then go out and handle Robinson. While injuries may have played some factor in those results, the Patriots are still a force to be reckoned with and their next 4 games give them a chance at a direct path back to the top spot. SSSA this year is not a competitor in the ISL. Saying Yorktown kept them within single digits is not saying that much. SMH public school lacrosse.
Funny you SMH at public school lacrosse when the perennial Private powerhouse can barely beat a bunch of public school kids. Face it, most of these DC area Private school teams are not good and have over inflated opinions of themselves.
Ok guess USA Lacrosse and Inside Lacrosse don't know what their talking about. Alrighty! https://www.usalaxmagazine.com/media/rankings/high-school/girls/national https://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/breaking-down-st-paul-s-darien-and-the-preseason-top-10-girls-high-school-teams/60945 https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2023/03/14/girls-lacrosse-top-10-with-talented-class-seniors-gone-teams-revamp/
What are you attempting to show here? That the DC area has 1 private school in a list of rankings? That 1 team that would lose to any top Public school from LI or lose to almost every IAAM school?
Showing that private schools comprise the top hs lists nationally and locally countering a previous poster's claims that the ISL WCAC teams aren't good and think of themselves more highly than the level at which they play. These lists show that the teams have credibility nationally and locally year over year with normal variances. FYI bayport and several others on the lists are public schools in LI and elsewhere (CT, western NY) and they are ranked below and above some of our regional private teams. Also, several of our local private schools regularly beat IAAM teams. IDK why people on this string question the level of play in the private schools - it is what it is.
Ok back to public school only talk.
