I am convinced that at a certain age, many men think it is socially desirable to have a wife/kids/house, etc. 
It is like garnish, that comes in handy (say, off season, when they want a nest to come home to). Namesake kids are a box they check off.

BUT, they have also learned that it is fun to have sex when you feel like it with whatever adoring young thing throws herself at you.

It is called, "Having your cake and eat it too."  I am afraid that most men would choose this option if it was presented to them.[/quote]
