Curious if there is a breakdown of how many girls from what clubs made the Capital Orange team? From what I have read Blue is filled with Pride and Stars but what about Orange?
Hard to say at this point since I know a majority of girls form Pride and Stars who made the team turned the spots down. (I only know two who accepted). I know they are deep in their waitlist.
Ha! Most everyone who was offered a spot on orange accepted! Only a few pulled from waitlist. A lot of Stars Light Blue players. Team will be pretty strong compared to most years.
Orange will be Orange. They will continue to be ranked in the 70-80 range and play in mid-level divisions at tournaments like the previous Orange high school classes.
And Cap Orange will continue to get recruited by better schools than any other club’s B team, and equal to many club’s A teams, as always. I’d tell my DD that Capital, even their B team, gives her a better chance at getting recruited by a good school than Pride A at this point.
Capital Orange's college recruiting for the last two years has sucked. I know - my DD is one of them. The fact is that getting recruited to play in college just gets more competitive every year and the Capital recruiting director does nothing of substance for the Orange players until Blue is recruited.
We had a completely positive experience with our daughter’s Capital Orange recruiting. Commmited to a great academic school with strong lacrosse and the efforts of the Recruiting Director went beyond anything we could have expected. Of course, there is an alternative explanation for your own outcome. Maybe your daugher didn’t get your perfect athletic genes.
Lol!! I was thinking, maybe his daughter just isn't good enough? Sometimes the truth hurts. If a coach sees what they are looking for, I'm pretty sure the coach will pursue/ probably make an offer.
There are probably several things going on with the Orange team. Players who have been pumped up to believe the CLC name alone will get them the school of their choice are learning the hard way this isn’t happening. It could be that CLC isn’t helping them with recruiting or it could be they simply are not good enough to warrant offers from top D1 programs. The 2023 D1 Orange class is not strong with half committing to schools in the bottom 25 D1 teams. They could be good academic schools, but they don’t appear to be. Those choosing to play for CLC Orange wanting to play in collage should align expectations with the CLC Director early to make sure it’s the best fit for their DDs. Orange doesn’t mean you can’t get recruited to a top D1 school, but recent history will suggest this is not likely.
